One of my goals on this trip was to pursue my goals. To find something I love to do and be the best I can be. One of this is photography. I never thought much about it before, but then I didn’t know how amazing it feels to take the photos you envision.
I use to think my husband was crazy on investing so much money on camera gear. It all changed when I accompanied him to Amsterdam for a conference. While he worked, I was free to roam the streets and canals of Amsterdam. He lent me his camera and a hobby was started. Until that time I didn’t have a hobby I can be proud of. I had a sticker collection when I was younger. I enjoy reading, but I don’t count that as a hobby. Photography was something different. It awakened something inside me. It gave me the desire to learn more.
At that time I left the settings to Auto or Aperture Ready mode. It would be another year before I started playing around with manual settings. It took a while to really understand the settings. If you’re interested in learning about photography and have an iPad, I recommend getting Life Digital photography. As I read it, everything about white balance, aperture, ISO and shutter finally clicked.
So enough rambling about photography. Here’s some recent photos I took of my cousin and her bf.
As you can see, I still have so much to learn. I’ve loving every minute of it. I’m so glad I decided to take some time off to see what my passions and potential are.
