Snacks, Dinner, Desserts, and a Sunset

IMG_0364Mark and I enjoy food. Actually we really enjoy good food, that last Saturday we basically spent the day snacking and eating. We started the day at Red Mango and ended with Crumbs.

We first went to Flushing to watch From Paris with Love. An action movie with John Travolta, and I can honestly say I liked the movie a lot. Usually when we go to the movies, Mark and I get bubble tea and sneak it in the theater. However we were late that day, and decided to just get it after.

Mark had cravings for Yogurt, so we first stopped at Red Mango after the movies. My favorite is the pomegranate yogurt with mochi and blackberry. Mark and I decided to share a large Tangomonium yogurt with blackberry, mochi, and mango. The toppings were yummy, but I’m just not a fan of tangy flavor.

Just a few doors down is Quickly’s, I don’t like the service in this place. I much prefer the Quickly’s a few blocks down in Kissena Boulevard. I like their service there better, and they make my bubble tea just perfectly. The Quickly employees in Roosevelt Avenue, just seemed like disgruntled workers. They’re always rude to me, and they can never get my order right. How hard is it to make Taro milk tea with tapioca. They also make this delicious puff pastry. However the guy who makes it always seems to have a runny nose and wipes it with his fingers while preparing the pastry. One glance at him, will make you lose your appetite. However since it was freezing that day, and we didn’t feel like walking a few extra blocks I settled for the Roosevelt Avenue one. I decided to give them one final chance to get my order right. Big mistake, My Taro milk tea was tasteless, and my tapioca so soft, it felt like I was eating baby food.

Next stop was Saigon Grill with the family. I usually get the Vegetable Basil, and Cha Gio Chay (fried vegetable spring roll). I love the sauce that comes with the spring roll. Their serving portions are huge, and the prices decent. Plus, their food is food delicious.

Final stop was dessert at Crumbs. We got brownie, red velvet, cookie dough, and half baked. Mark’s favorite was half baked, while mine was red velvet. When I first tasted the red velvet I couldn’t resist saying “yummm”. I really wasn’t much of cupcake fan before, but I think I’m going to try all the cupcake shops in the city.
