Last Friday night, I went to Bryant Park’s Cellar Bar for Lovelyn’s birthday It was open bar from 10-11pm for the birthday group. It was freezing that night, and thankfully I didn’t have to wait too long to get in. All I can say is that security is a big deal in this place. At the door, I got my drink special band and my entry stamp. My stamp was scanned once I entered the front door entrance. My stamp was scanned again before I got in through the second door. They even scanned my wrist for the stamp coming back from the bathroom, which is just right next to the bar. There is also mandatory coat check rule before entrance down to the bar.
The layout of the place is small, but open. There’s one bar at one end of the venue and the dj is in the middle on an elevated platform. The music was good, and the place got really crowded fast. I found the staff was very friendly. It was a lot of fun that night. The only thing I didn’t like was that the group next to us were very rude. They kept pushing to our space, and spilling their drinks. Normally you would say excuse me or say sorry, but this group had no manners at all. Mei had to give them a little taste of their own medicine and started dancing in big circles to clear the space. It worked, and they moved away.
My drink for that night was Madris, which is vodka with orange juice and cranberry. A big plus for the boys and maybe girls are the barely dressed dancers that dance behind the bar. Definitely a fun night, however I had to leave early and be responsible for work the next day. I’ll leave you with a little taste of what the boys were drooling over that night.
