NYC shopping and vegetarian food

I love days off, and most of all vacations.  Unfortunately no exotic getaway this time, but it’s ok I Love New York.  Yesterday Mark and I decided to go to the city for a little bit of Christmas shopping.  We woke up late and decided to just head straight and get food at one of our favorite vegetarian restaurant.

Red bamboo is one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants. The restaurant itself is located below street level.  You go down the stairs to enter the restaurant.  The restaurant is cozy with friendly staff.  They have a huge selection of food to choose from their menu.   Their imitation meat dishes just has so much flavor, it’s enough to satisfy any craving.  Since it’s been a while since I last ate there I opted out of being adventurous and trying something new.   I missed my usual dish so I ordered the barbecue buffalo wings and the mango chicken.   Those are my two favorite dishes and they never disappoint.  My husband ordered the Ginger beef with salad, which I didn’t like too much. Just writing this is making me wish also ordered  creole soul chicken.  Can’t wait to go back again.

Then off to do some some Christmas shopping.  Stopped by at Uniqlo.  I ended up buying this heattech long sleeve for $10.50.   Everyone was grabbing it so I figured it must be good.  It supposedly generates and retains heat.    So far I like it for its lightweight and soft texture.  You can check online their website and see their commercial for the heattech clothes.  It shows men and women walking in this thin layers of clothes in cold weather.  I’m not too sure about the heat retaining and heat generating ability, but it looks good and perfect for layering.

Of course I cant shop without stopping at Sephora and MAC.  I’m so weak when it comes to make-up temptation.  I went in just to “look for gifts”  ended up buying Make Up Forever super matte loose powder, and high definition elexir at Sephora. At the register because” I’m such  a good customer,” which means I go there at least once a week, I was upgraded to VIB.  With the VIB you get more perks.  On my next purchase I get 10% off and then another $20.  Just when I thought I was strong enough to stop going  they give you something shiny to reel you back in.  The temptations!  Then of to MAC where I ended up buying 2 of the mini pigments boxes for gifts.  The colors ares just beautiful I’m tempted to keep it.  For myself I bought studio fix NC 35, which is great for my oily skin and offers enough coverage for my skin.  A stop at MAC is never complete without new lipstick, well 3 in my case.  They were just so beautiful, I had to get them.

Poor Mark was just tagging along, bored out of his mind in MAC.  To make it up, we stop by Artichoke pizza since Mark’s been craving it.  Love their pizza!   That place always has a line even when it’s raining, it’s that good. Met Sammy, one of the frienly guys in there.  Took a few pictures, and as promised I’m posting them up.   Great way to end the day.
